INTRODUCTION:
Occurrence of molybdenum is mainly molybdenite. The main method of sorting molybdenite is flotation. Molybdenite crystalline hexagonal layered or plate-like structure, S-Mo-S structure and the inner layer between the layer by the polar van der Waals bond covalent bond formation of S-Mo. The binding force between layers is weak, and the covalent bond layer binding force is very strong. So molybdenite layer solution can easily split between the structure along flaky or tabular output, so the natural floatability chalcocite good, suitable flotation beneficiation. Practice has proved that: under suitable grinding fineness, molybdenite crystals from solution takes place between S-Mo-S layers, S-Mo surface hydrophilic small percentage. But after grinding, the proportion of S-Mo surface increases floatability decreased, although at this time the new sludge by adding a certain amount of polar such as xanthate collector class, help fai molybdenum recovery, but over-mill effect of flotation. So the sorting of molybdenite to avoid and prevent excessive wear on the production needs segmented grinding and multi-stage sorting process, and gradually to monomer dissociation, to ensure high recovery of molybdenum concentrate.
